Good one. You almost always leave this Englit Grad School dropout laughing.

It’s so nice to think that, but in reality I would have been the designated hostage.

Spoken like one of the youngest of a large family. Since there were no designated hostages in Wm. Golding’s book, you’d manipulate the rest to think they were leading. Psy- ops!

Such philosophy! A think piece 🤔. Relative to today, perhaps?! Don’t we do that metaphorically in business, too?!
Isn’t the end, where a British Naval Officer (seeing the fire to drive Ralph out of hiding) is stunned and expresses disappointment that good British boys, now crying, would fall into such a state of misbehavior and savagery, while contemplating his warship?!

I think I’d just go to the beach or a hike in the mountains instead. Killing is outside my comfort zone.
