Are you certain that one on the left isn’t “Dogs at Poker”? 🙂 It makes these works all the more remarkable to be reminded that they each sprang out of a literal blank, through just the force of someone’s imagination. Brilliant concept!

I think that’s the beauty of it. Everyone starts with a blank canvas…even Bob Ross.

Yes, you’re correct. The final painting is oil on board. This is a much earlier draft when he was thinking of using canvas.
