Bravo!
Fun fact is that most of the weird ingredients like eye of newt are just ancient pseudonyms for herbs, often describing colour and/or shape like a mustard seed being small beads of either yellow or black – like a newt’s eye!
“Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder’s fork and blind-worm’s sting,
Lizard’s leg and owlet’s wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.”
I love it! I’d like to see a follow-up: Trying again, but this time a ridiculously fluffy and adorable creature pops up instead of the demon she wanted. She comments, “Stop with the pumpkin spice already!”
It’ll be a wayward weird witch who dunnit. …. or the butler.
