“Nobody ever said, ‘Giving men the vote 🗳 will utterly destroy society, ‘” she said coquettishly.

I doff my aigrette to you, Mr. Atkinson.
Looking through the lens of history…it just repeats in more absurd ways, doesn’t it?

“By any means possible.”
Ironic that the women’s suffragette movement gave out medals for valour in the face of imprisonment, being force fed because they were not charged as political prisoners.

Right that the maddening crowd with bowlers and top hats (no flat working class caps) are depicted in silhouette. Brilliantly subtle.
Mostly a ‘concern’ of the Upper classes to keep power away though we’ll tax your work.

To spend fighting wars each day
War can’t give life
It can only take it away”

Hey now, clever Boi!
Funnily enough, the Suffragettes suspended their militant actions and public protest at the outbreak of the First World War and immediately threw themselves into supporting the war effort. It was those deeds that finally got the Votes for Women passed into law.

I personally think that voting itself is leading to society’s ruin, regardless of who can and cannot vote. Bring back the monarchy! (As long as I’m somewhere up top)

This sort of misses the mark, since history shows us that queens have been starting more wars than kings and that female soldiers tend to commit more atrocities than male soldiers (in relative numbers of course).
