As the tiny voice in my head says, any time I watch period drama. Well done!

And at least there’s no time travel involved…. or is there?

I think the time travel is implied.

🤣🤬
I think a womanly peevish attititude would predominate. Being draped in 4 layers of undergarments and a corset that restricted breathing would hamper any other opinions.
But I speak looking back so time travel occurs within!!!

Corsets are one of those modern veneers. Back then, there was no such thing as ready-made clothing, so corsets FIT. Yes, poor people wore hand-me-downs, but both rich & poor would not tolerate what we put up with now.
A rich person would replace a bad corset because they could afford to. A poor person would replace a bad corset because they couldn’t afford not to, like a homeless person ditching a pair of jeans too tight to walk around in.

I always judge historical characters, even historical fiction characters, by contemporary fashion and mores. Which implies that most of our ancestors were both stupid and evil. Glad I am not that way.

Since they are our ancestors, by default, we, too, are a little stupid 🤦♂️🤦♀️ and evil 😈.
Didn’t stop the procreation drive or we wouldn’t be here.

Your cartoon today has delightfully playful anachronisms and hints at subversive elements touching on complex themes.🤭🫢🤔🤗
Past cartoons in silhouette🫂👥️ imply diverse casting.
Waiting impatiently for the Bold sex scenes!!!

What it is a costume dramedy, a historical Regency-era romance (based on his stovepipe & her bonnet), and a witty cartoon with opulence, Alex?!

If all the men are wearing ‘Toppers’ then it’s period. Al the rest is nonsense 🤣🙃😎

What period -1780s, when the justaucorps was replaced by the previously casual frocks and dress coats?
Kinda looks like that based on the frothy fabric on his chest and her bonnet would make it Regency-era!

A period is a period. If I don’t understand the clothing, I assume it’s old and I move on. 🤣🙃😎

In the whirl of Americoo’s whimsy with the conundrum of whooshy can splash in which loo, this Vicky-toonie doodle feels quite splendiferous!

Point taken about the corset comfort with the pliable whalebone stays but the number of undergarments, you must admit, to be unreasonably puritanically many and frothy.
The corset, I understand, was not worn against bare skin as it is today and no less than 3 other layers were piled upon.
I’d rather go commando than have that fuss.
