From prison Manette headed west
For fear of the Bastille’s unrest,
While Paris was tumbling
and London was grumbling
that the times were the worst and the best.
I think that tidies it up a trifle! Enjoyed that, thanks.

Reduced to such very slim pickings:
When TV and movies
Gut what’s true, jeez,
Who’d wish to be Austen or Dickens?
