Having a little one doing, “Are we there yet?!” caused me to race faster garnering a speeding ticket. A minor distraction to the resumption of his plaintive cries.
How I would have loved to say, ” Go climb to the Crow’s nest and see for yourself!!!”

I’ve not ‘let the cat out of the bag’ to say that family vacations can be like ‘the devil and the deep blue sea’. Oft times ‘sailing close to the wind’, we’ve had to ‘batten down the hatches’ to get the beloved kids ‘squared away’ without ‘lowering the boom’ !💥
To compensate, sometimes, in the evenings mind, when all the small people are settled asleep, we’d get some ‘three sheets to the wind’.
And surprisingly an ‘all hands on deck’ moment arises; suddenly, despite ‘headwinds’, no one is left ‘high and dry’. It is a measure of ‘the cut of one’s jib’.
