As a long time cat lover, and pet of many cats over my long life-time, I have to say this seems very accurate. There are many naps in between the trouble-making and zoomies and bird-watching. Got to restore that energy! 🤣🤣

What, no Calicos? They were revered in Egypt and considered lucky omens in China and Japan.
Not strictly “historical” but you could have shown Socks sleeping on a blue dress. Wait . . . I forgot this is a family friendly strip.

We also call them Glückskatze (lucky cat) in German.

Sooo sooo cute – we own three cats, so like butterflymama49 we know all the ups & downs during the day.

Oh, I *wish* the zoomies only happened during the day! She’s the only one, but up and down the stairs in the middle of the night, she sounds like a whole herd! LOL. But somehow, they’re so worth it. 🙂

Our young girl does this too, whenever she pleases, but I am mostly up at night and hubby is fast asleep.

😃 Traveling, I went into the beautiful old Basilica of St. Francis at Assisi. Curled (just as you drew it) beside the Tabernacle was a lean ginger cat. Not bothered by the whirring of the countdown lights paid for my glimpse. When a sonorous baritone said “Keeping God company” and a gentle laugh.

I wonder if Aristole, Elizabeth I, and Napoleon ever got exasperated with their cats being on their stuff.
Really… white cat hair on Napoleon’s tricorner chapeau bleu ….
