What nonsense these irresponsible wordsmiths are teaching the children of tomorrow!

What bothers me more though is the double negative of ‘I Can’t Get No Satisfaction’ – what’s wrong with singing, ‘I Can Get Satisfaction’? Much more elegant! Where are the Grammar Police when we need them?

Worst advice: in “Laughter in the Rain” the second verse goes “after awhile we run under a tree, I turn to her and she kisses me” and all I do is think “Lightning strikes him but it misses me”

The actual quote from Merchant of Venice is “All that glisters is NOT gold.” You can modernize “glisters” to “glitters,” but leaving out the “not” completely changes the meaning of the quotation.
